First human-merfolk contact or "First contact" for short is the unofficial name for the small nameless village that is located west of Port Ossic .
This village marks the spot where a company of humans and a few halflings presumably first met the merfolk race. Since then it has been one of the few rare holy spots dedicated to Januri , the spot where the Midgardians first heard about the existence of this goddess.
The village also houses one of the two Midgardian "Merfolk Markets". A place where merfolk and Midgardian trade on a weekly bases. The other such market is located in the underwater Merefolk reserve .
