Midgard Dwellers

Knowledge Level:
3 - Very common, noble born children are taught this during classes.

Fae

Fae that live in Midgard often have a liking for the short living races their vitality and spark. They are energized by the fires of their short lives so to speak. The love for freedom and individual strength trough joy of the Midgardians sometimes speaks highly to the Fae, but the Fae are more often than not to proud and arrogant to live with the mud shuffling short living ape men, scoundrel like halflings and damp loving gnomes.

Some Fae come to Midgard to teach magic to the Midgardians in the mages guilds.

Elf

Elven that live in Midgard are probably intrigued by Midgardian simplicity. Few elf would stoop so low as to be called savage, but sometimes elves are not to fond at the complex social caste systems and regulations of elven society and seek more simplistic earthly matters and relations in Midgard.

Some elven come to Midgard to teach magic to the Midgardians in the mages guilds.

Tellurians

Tellurians might come to Midgard for the mountains. They have enough of the hulking nature structures themselves in Utgard, but to a Tellurian every mountain is different and some simply like the rock in Midgard more than that of Utgard. If a Tellurian is in Midgard for the society he might be here to escape the rigid clan honours, oaths and responsibilities, although this is rare among Tellurians.

Tellurian trading clans might create permanent settlements or housing facilities in Midgard.

Orc

Orcs that come to Midgard do so mainly for one of three reasons. 1. Coming here to join the mercenaries/gangs/arena combatants and thus in search for a fight. 2. Coming here to avoid the fighting expected of them, although this is rare. 3. Simply wandered in without any particular reason.

Some Orcs come here for the Cadavor meat they fancy.

Troll

Troll venture into Midgard in search of a new high more than any other reason. The thinkering gnomes and herbalistic halflings always come up with a new party drug of one or another and the more modern troll isn't satisfied with simple natural weeds. The modern troll knows where the relaxed mellow parties are. In Midgard. Trolls might also come to Midgard in search of some lost ancestral quest, call, artifact or strange vibe.

Ogre

Ogres rarely come to Midgard on their own account. When they come to Midgard they simply travel here with other Utgardians they regard as friends, bosses or simply those guys that always venture to the next good fight. Midgardian arena scouts and mercenary agents also actively recruit Utgardian Ogres within the borders of Utgard.

If ogres arrive in Midgard with any other solid reason, chances are large the whole tribe went on the trip to Midgard... and they won't be staying long.

Shanata

Shanata in Midgard live their to test themselves or to reap the chances in the chance rich economy of Midgard. The large cutthroat social/economic structure of Midgard creates an urban jungle where the strong flourish and the weak perish. The shanata adopt fairly quickly, remembering that it is not the most fittest that will eventually rule, but the most fitting! The Shanata testing themselves (often with dangerous jobs like "criminal", "watchmen", "bodyguard" or "adventurer") return to the woods after a few years to merge with a tree and begin their new lifespan... if they live trough the test that is Midgard.

Some politically inclined Shanata wish to push the social structure of Midgard away from the protection of the weak even more.

Feyfolk

Feyfolk in Midgard try to soften the blow that is Midgard to the joy of living by being charitable to the weak. These Feyfolk are often strong themselves, having economically feasible forms, giving them the power to support the unfortunate of Midgard. Other Feyfolk work as messengers, scouts, or small mechanics, helping the gnomes with their tinkering.

Some politically inclined Feyfolk wish to push the social structure of Midgard to a more protective state, where the weak would be protected from poverty, homelessness, drugs and gambling. These Feyfolk often employ diplomatic forms, Full of grace and pleasing to the eye, but neutral.

Slemmering

Slemmering in Midgard are in Midgard for the same reason slemmering are anywhere. They lay still, frantically hoarding their time, and wait for opportunity, in any form, or they have acquired what opportunity they wished for and are now enjoying the rest of their days.

Nymph

Nymphs come to Midgard for love and companionship away from their rejuvenating water, they either choose to love their love for a short while before returning to the forest, growing old with the object of their love in Midgard or to find/give/feel and take as much love as possible from as many people as possible, this makes them prostitutes, comfort ladies, masseuses, doctors, orphan workers, celebrities, etc.

Other nymphs are drawn by the "natural neutrality" of Midgardian law. Midgard doesn't protect the weak or helps the strong, the only laws it has are their to create civilization and nothing more. Nymphs that are drawn to Midgard from their internal feeling of neutrality and objectiveness often become prosecutors, judges, lawyers, watchmen, accountants, contract writers, financial advisers, economists, etc.

Merfolk

Merfolk inhabit some ports of Midgard as traders, fishermen, shell craftsmen, navy mercenaries or as any other professional that exploits their rare talent with water. Their talent isn't rare at home, but it is in Midgard and therefor highly valued.

Lizardman

Most lizardman in Midgard are slaves, captured and sold by the Midgardian army after an alliance of large tribes attacked Midgard plundering and looting. But the once that are not slaves have no real racial purpose of being in Midgard, therefor lizardmen that are in Midgard are always their for highly personal reasons, usually in a group to keep them focused on the task at hand.
