Bardel Luinurya

Family history: The legend of the Luinurya family, a member of the thaumatology caste, is not commonly known. It is sometimes, but rarely, told as a grim tale to young Fae, heavily edited. How much of the original legend is true is even questioned, as Gendil was the only mortal to witness the ordeal herself and survive... and the demon Kalesto has never been questioned about the situation.

Kalesto, a fierce fire elemental had temped the young Feerel Ulsom with power, picturing himself as a weak, relatively easily controllable, fire elemental. In truth he was a very strong elemental and when he broke free from the young Feerel's puny summoning ritual he burned the entire mages guild to ashes. Amids the flames and dying wreckage of the building the entire still living part of the guild was protected from fire by magic, and fighting the demon. The only way they eventually did managed to banish the demon was for the rest of the guild to sacrifice itself in a blood ritual to strengthen Gendil Tulanil her fire magic. Gendil her fire spell had such potency that her flame was blue to the sight and it burned so strong that is sucked the necessary air away from the fire elemental, weakening it just enough and just in time for Gendil to complete the banishing ritual. She took up the name Luinaurya (blueblaze in the commen language) ever since and the family has worn it with pride.

Now that the oldest (and therefor head of) the family, Bardel Blueblaze, has spoiled the family its good name, many family members have taken up the original name of Tulanil.

Bardel his history: Bardel, although a proud descendant from Gendil and a potent mage himself, has no legends himself to tell. He has served Asgard in the war and has survived several campaigns more by luck than trough skill, although a lot of rumors exist that he was put on active counter duty the whole of the campaigns, because of his fathers connections on the force, and was therefor never put in harms way. He has no fire magic himself like his family's mother but the arrogance from his lineage has made him intolerable sometimes in his younger years.

He learned air magic at the "council of Talor's wind" one of the oldest and highest esteemed air mages guild at that time. The education was payed for by Bardel his father as soon as the boy his talent for magic was proven. Bardel took expensive courses in ritual magic as well, but never really showed talent for that.

After over 500 years of war, Bardel retires from service as a changed man. No longer the daddies boy but no longer completely sane nor physically well either. 500 years of strict discipline and following orders to the letter has turned Bardel into the crippled old machine of emotional righteous fury he is today. He frequently wakes up screaming bloody murder in the night and his Fae emotions are almost over the top even for his race. Still, discipline and a well oiled machinery of war is all Bardel really was and as soon as he heared rumors about an inter kingdom war over the throne he took the side of the thief king (with almost all the other fae) and pumped all and every last single penny he had into the war, dealing grievous blows to the elven rebel scum it's defenses, with regiment after regiment of Midgardian mercenaries.

Now that the inner kingdom war has come to an abrupt end with the return of the king and queen of Asgard, starting a new mages guild and somehow putting his family name back in the picture and reclaiming his lost honor is the last dying wish of the old man. With the certainty that he might die any moment now of old age he chases this dream with a vigor like no other.

The ruling caste Selu'elena family, a family known for ruling magical projects, has given his blessing to open the Urya Elena mage guild, or "Blaze of the stars". Urya Elena will be a guild following the vision of Bardel Blueblaze and his hope of building an Asgardian mage guild specialized in the Vortex and the multiverse outside of Heimr.
